How it works

Real therapy, through a screen that doesn’t get in the way.

The practical part

Sessions run through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video link — you’ll get it before your session. All you need is a private spot, decent internet, and a phone or computer with a camera.
Individual, couples, and family sessions run 53+ minutes. First appointments are usually within one week of the free consult, with evening times available with select clinicians.

Coverage & cost

Most major insurance works for video, too.

We accept most major commercial plans — Aetna, BCBS including MESSA and Anthem, Blue Care Network, Priority Health, and UnitedHealthcare/Optum with some clinicians — plus self-pay rates. We do not accept Medicaid or Medicare. Your coverage is confirmed before your first session, so there are no surprises. Full fees & insurance details →

Questions people ask

Online therapy, answered honestly.

Do I need to live near an office?

No. Our clinicians are licensed in Michigan and see video clients anywhere in the state — you never need to set foot in an office. If you’re near Byron Center, in-person is there when you want it.

Can I switch to in person later?

Yes. Many clinicians see clients both ways, so you can move between video and the Byron Center office as life requires — same clinician, same records. A Zeeland office opens January 2027.

Who does online care fit best?

People with full schedules, long drives, young kids at home, or who simply open up more easily from their own space. Your consult is the place to talk through whether video is the right fit for what you’re working on — we’ll tell you honestly.

What if I’m in crisis?

Riverside is not a crisis service. If you’re in crisis, call 988 or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, call 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.

Wherever you are in Michigan, start here.
